Biltmore Lake Association Awarded Community of the Year
The North Carolina Chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAI) recently awarded the Biltmore Lake Association as the Community of the Year for 2011. The award criteria was based on how the association has enhanced the community’s quality of life, projects within the community, excellence in committee work and other aspects of community living. The core purpose of Community Associations Institute is to “foster vibrant, responsive and competent associations that promote community harmony and responsible leadership.”
The Biltmore Lake Association has won the award by providing its residents with social events, informative lectures, training seminars, music and performing arts. With 1,300 acres as the community’s back yard, Biltmore Lake hosts diverse events, such as the Enka/Biltmore Lake Triathlon, craft fairs, hiking clubs, and much more. Residents’ favorite activities include kayaking, camping, swimming, and playing on the sandy beach along the lake. Biltmore Lake also offers miles of nature trails for walking, jogging and biking. The community amenities include tennis and basketball courts as well as a full-time recreational director who plans events such as seasonal concerts, holiday festivals, and youth activities.
